A blog is basiclly a dynamic "web log"... it can be personal journals, rants, etc. There's thousands (millions?) of them out there... many pretty entertaining.

That's from Kai's blog. I just had to post it because it's far too stupid to not be displayed.

Nice service.

There's a bunch out there now because it's the "in" thing. You might notice that many mainstream media websites now have "blog" sections.

Another nice feature of blogs, actually more than just blogs, is support for RSS. This is a protocol for publishing information. Yahoo now has support for it. Here's more info:

http://my.yahoo.com/s/rss-faq.html

With an RSS reader it's possible to keep up with many sites without having to visit them. The Yahoo faq above explains more.

Was bored to I started a BLOG (I really hate that word... why can't we come up with a COOL acronyme for once?)

Just a test blog - I don't really like the name but it's the first thing to come to mind.

Sweet blog hudson

If you stick at it, you'll be addicted at your newfound literary outlet ("vent" if you will) ;)

I had a dorky blog a couple of years ago...except that I called mine a journal so that I wouldn’t feel like a girl when I wrote in it. I kept it anonymous and it began to get a following after a few months, but I eventually gave it up because it was too much pressure to keep up with and post regularly.

Eventually, a couple of people I knew from the real world found it and started reading it, and that ruined the experience and comfort of being uncensored. I still go back and look at it from time to time, and a lot of the writing is very surprising to me, it sounds like it’s a different person.

Eventually, I’ll just print out the whole thing for posterity.

Ok, now the tough part. Filling it. Especially tough when you do most of your "commenting" here. ;)

Btw, here's mine http://www.hanskellner.com/

Thought we could resurrect this old topic for all the new members who might have blogs. So please post yours here.

Here's the blog for the search engine we're building.

Ha ha! I read through this thread thinking that it was current. I was wondering why all these clowns were pretending not to know what a blog was.

Same here.

I thought John Hudson was sarcastic with his, "What? Blog? How can I get one?"

...and I must say I was a little surprised to see uncensored Hudson.

I used to write...stuff...all the time. Somewhere in the wilderness upstairs are notebooks full of...stuff.

But, apparently, that was outgrown. Or maybe I just have a life now. Something.

At any rate, a week or so ago I decided to try again, see if I could get the old logorrhea going again.

Nope.

Installed WordPress and there it sits. One post:

Hello world! August 6th, 2007
This is the first post.

Thrilled, ain’t ya.

Damn. Maybe I should dig out those ntoebooks and just transcribe...stuff.

:)
