ive used sevaral sets of headphones to monitor audio recorded on the ex1 while i shoot. ive been hearing distortion/clipping a lot when the level gets on the hot side, the meter still has a few bars to go till it visually peaks but it looks fine, i especially hear the distortion/clipping with lower end sounds like boomy speakers. im worried while shooting but when i import the footage on a timeline and play it into a television, it sounds fine cant hear the clipping.
here are my situations :
- sony ecm44 lav mic on groom
- sony ecm shotgun mic (from my old sony dsr390 cam)
- shure 58 wireless micing church or venue audio speakers.
my audio is set to auto gain. has anyone experienced this, its very nerve racking when i monitor live but thank god it sounds fine in the end, maybe the phones out of the ex1 is weird.
