Hey, would anyone be willing to help me out with some simple java web design? I'm a cameraman, so I'm completely lost with this.

You might try wysiwyg software, even I was able to figure it out and I don't even know what Java is, I thought I was a place I went surfing or maybe that stuff you get at Starbuck's.

check out Joomla, it's free and very good, and easy,

Yeah, CMSs is where it's at. Drupal, EasyCMS, ... -- but for the love of baby Jesus stay away from Typo3 -- that's the work of the devil.

Yeah, check out joomla. You can download template sites from rockettheme.com. They have a lot to choose from and they are pretty easy to customize.
