Unfortunately I'll be missing the fun this time around as I'm leaving tomorrow for an out of town shoot, and I'll be gone for the kickoff of the fest. But I'm looking forward to watching all of your films as soon as I get back towards the end of next week.
I just wanted to take a moment to wish the best to everyone who is working on their films (and to those few who may have already finished them). You should all be proud of yourselves for getting out there and getting it done. We spend so much time talking about making films on here that it's great to see people get so excited about actually doing it instead of just talking about it.
Congratulations to all of you - here's wishing you all a great DVXfest!

Thank you Luis (and Blaine) for the words of wisdom. This should be a kick-arse fest!
EDIT: Yes, I can see the future. I knew Blaine was going to reply. Actually, when I first read this thread his post was already there so I don't know how I got put before him.

Here's a thought to take with you, Luis...:Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)
Guys (and gals) I speak my mind at the time I type.
You have to take me with a grain of salt (and some sand in your underwear)
I don’t hold punches and I’m an ass+hole
I’m opinionated and biased…
Take me as you can

Good luck on your shoot. And I agree there are a LOT of amazing looking films this time around. Keeps getting better.
I'm awaiting the day when a short from this competition gets nominated or wins an Oscar. Judging from the quality I've seen recently at these fests it probably won't be too much longer. I've seen several shorts here that deserved nominations.

I think it'd be cool if once the shorts start getting better, the time limit went to around 20 minutes. Most of the Oscar winners/nominees are a lot longer than 6 minutes.
I agree that it won't be much longer. I can't wait until viewing opens.

Good luck Luis... Be careful, stay dry, and take lots of pictures because we want to hear all about this when you return. Adventure is good... and this one's gonna' be an adventure.
