I've been toying with the idea of getting a video camera - but I'm not big enough into it to invest more than 2-500 USD on one. I'm more of a graphic artist than a film maker and want something that I can shoot footage that's adequate for shooting stock footage that I can take into after effects and experiment with visual effects.
I'd like something hand-held, but shoots decent quality video. I know there's a difference as I've used my school's XL2s and they were EXCELLENT. I'm just not allowed to go shooting with those all the time.
