Hey all,

Picking up an EX3 the moment I can get it from Abel CineTech here in SoCal but I had a few questions for the pro's here regarding lenses:

The EX3 undoubtedly comes with a great Fujinon lens, but as an additional lens how about:

1) Canon YH19x6.7KRS 19x 1/2" Professional Video Lens
(6.7-127mm (19x Zoom))
f/1.4 at 6.7-89mm
f/2.0 at 127mm
$7,000

2) Fujinon S13x4.6BERM 1/2" ENG Lens with 2x Extender
(4.6-60mm (13x Zoom) and 9.2-120mm (2x Extender)
f/1.5 at 4.6-45mm
f/2.0 at 60mm
$8,000
*there's also a Sony by Fujinon version of this lens; same thing but says "Sony"

Sony | Fujinon has a bunch of XDCAM HD lenses (around $12-22k USD) but I'm not sure of those are any better than the sub-$8,000 ones.

I'm not 100% sure but I believe that SERVO Focus lenses work with the EX1 - but again I'm not sure??? Some are motorized, some servo, some suggestions please! :D

Thanks everyone.

We are shooting documentary material to keep that into consideration for lenses.

No idea on the high end ones, but aren't they coming out with a wide angle virsion of the stock lens.

It seems that some of the lenses are even more expensive than the camera itself.

That is typical. The lens is so critical, pros will buy (or rent) lenses that exceed the cost of their camera body. Do a side-by-side comparison test to see the difference for yourself. Go to a pro video rental house and ask for a lens demo.

And I think that is why 35mm adapter is still popular and cheaper route to go.
