Shot a couple nights ago near Mt Whitney, CA on my Canon 350D, 10-22 @ 10mm, f/4, ISO 800, 90s exposure, as part of a timelapse sequence.

You guys have any nice Milky Way shots?

Awww...it's just a bunch of stars......

That's one of the best sky shots I've seen short of the Hubble...

Beautiful shot! So stupid question from someone who has been in the light polluted city most of his life - does it actually look like that with the naked eye out there or is this some super long exposure to get that much definition.

Beautiful work Tom. Thanks for sharing that. Inspiring.

Jeff, you MUST make it a point to get remote and look up on a clear night, especially on or near a new moon. Once you do, you will not care about the cost of the gas to do it or the time it takes. It is transforming.

I'd like to see that timelapse!

It came out amazing! But unfortunately, my power system failed halfway through the night and I only got about 170 frames. It's still enough for a 7-second timelapse, so not a total loss.

This will be part of a 6- or 7-minute short film - all timelapse - which I hope to finish this year.

karapetkov, we have lots of sexy milky ways here in California!
