Post help!!

Ok, so I had to pick the most windiest day in Texas to shoot my movie...and its all done outside. I have audio that has wind throughout the dialogue....and can't seem to fix it. Don't know how to get rid of it...any advise or someone want to clean it up for me? PLEASE!!

Wind is a Mo-FO! There isn't much you can do with wind usually. The mechanics of what wind does to an audio signal basically make the moment when the wind hits the diaphragm on the mic useless unless you are going for a godzilla attacking the audio guy sequence. The other interesting thing about wind is the frequency it lives in... to the human ear it seems like wind is high pitched thus should be easily taken out with a simple EQ. Really though, wind covers a lot of frequencies. We just can't hear it because the high pitch is louder in our ear.

I would suggest trying to figure out a dub/ ADR solution.

i removed some of the worse aspects of it but it took a lot of the clarity out... It wasn't a whole lot more usable as far as audio goes.

That might be the best way to do it. Granted it is a pain. Had to do it once with a film shot on a bolex wild motor. Ugh - never again.

But I want to see that film my man!

Wind is a tricky beast. Especially if the audio spikes - then she gets clipped. Which effectively renders the clip useless. Sorry to hear you ran into a delay.
