hey guys

i just bought a JVC GZ-HD7 Everio and while i kno its not the best out there it seems to be good so far...im new into filmmaking so i thought it was a good starting camera....i got it for $699:grin:

my question....is it a decent camera to have for low budget stuff

Well you already bought it...so why ask now? If you can still return it, for that price, I would probably pick up a Canon HV20. Great, crisp HD with the option to shoot 24p (or, in Canon's case f - same thing). I don't know too much about the camera you listed, but the HV20/30 has been getting great responses and I myself have used one.

Great starter cam in my opinion, but if you've already purchased this and can't return it, stick with it and use it to its full potential.

Now that is a great decision! I hope you did your reading about the subject. There are issues with the "rolling shutter", when shooting high speed action stuff, but there are workarounds. Read up on the camera through this and other online boards to get a better idea of any obstacles you may encounter.

It does produce FANTASTIC images though, so I hope to see some of your work with it!
