Man, the ol' 500 looks like a bazooka with all that stuff hanging off of it. How was it to handle and work with - especially the shoulder mount stuff?

Pretty rough with the matte box it was like 130mm long the worst was the wind with the matte box and wet weather gear hand held trying to do close ups, but fun, some of the lighting situations called for more senstistivy and dynamic range than the 202 so we thought wed give it a whirl.

How on earth are you using the soft focus wheel to pull focus?

the focus gears were really adverage, the pulling didn't work too bad i think indi call it a speed wheel

Any Full Resolution stills from the short?

Although the rig is quite possibly the longest camera rig on the planet, it does inspire hope knowing that the relay units will mean a much more compact setup.

Thanks for sharing.

Yes, the short B4 relay lens from Letus is 65mm long vs. 204mm for a Fujinon HA18X7.6BERM HD zoom lens and more importantly the edge to edge focus will be very good with a well designed relay, very little chromatic aberration, sharper, and faster than putting a 35mm DOF adapter on the end of an ENG zoom lens. A much better hand held experience for sure.
