so i recently did a 3 camera shoot (panasonic hvx, dvx, and a handheld) of a live show for band called "why?" and i finally finished it after months of editing. i have it burned to a dvd and it looks fantastic. however, i'm trying to export it to put up a few songs on vimeo.

i go to "export>use quicktime conversion" and then go to "size>de-interlace source video" and export it. the problem is, when i do this the video comes out super pixelated. the show was shot in a fairly dark venue. could that be part of the problem?

anyone have any quick tips on how to avoid this?

Try doing an export without de-interlacing it in export and see how it looks. Also you could try using the de-interlace filter in fcp in the browser go to Effects>Video Filters>Video>DeInterlace and play with the settings until you get an export you like.

What codec are you using? Is it a preset?

Additionally, what data rate are you using?

be sure to use the appropriate chroma smoothing filters in the "keying" folder for each clip. this will help with the chroma artifacts which get very obvious in darker footage.
