Not sure if this is the proper place (mods please relocate, if not...)

Have found that there is at least a little bit of interest, in the possibility of a Forum devoted to Art Direction/Production Design/Locations/Costumes.

And so, a poll to see if maybe there is more than a little bit.

Do you think an Art Direction/Production Design/Locations/Costumes Forum, is something you would like to see?

This is as important of a topic as any other we discuss as filmmakers. Along with bad audio and too much dialogue, lack of attention to production design is a hallmark of amateur films. Bring it.

I'd definitely be interested in something like this. What's nice is that we have an expert or two on this subject as long-time members.

why not, good idea, its an interesting topic.

This is an incredibly good and germane idea for independent filmmaking and this site. As has already been stated, poor production design is a hallmark of amateur films.

I don't know what this guy has to do with it...

...but I'd be very interested to see a forum dedicated to this. If people have tips for bringing big studio production design to low-budget films, I predict it will become a very popular part of the boards.

Don't forget deco!

Who voted no?

Someone who hates the Art Department?

Or just wants to keep the number of forums stable.

*edit - or someone who prefers verite film making, for which an art department and related trades could be entirely superfluous.

I'm interested in Art Direction

I might need to be hiring one in the near future depending on how our film goes through preproduction.

Great idea!

Absolutely. More Art. Less tech talk. You've got my vote.

Great production design is as valuable an asset to a cinematographer as anything else, if not more. You have my vote.

I sure hope so. I hope it could also be a place for questions on wardrobe and makeup.

A magically self-refilling pint of Guinness.

Truly, we are living in the future.

Great idea. I'll be checking in often since this is a specific area I know relatively little about (yet!). Thanks!
