I want and want and want and want and some things I either just can't afford or I just can't fathom spending money for.
THe Outland Dolly V1 is built. And it rocks. My contribution was looking up design plans and buying materials whereas my new collaborative partner basically built it. I'll be doing some footage today and this evening and posting it tonight. BUt, the purpose of this thread is I an't believe I fathomed spending the kind of cash people are asking for a 'skateboard dolly' now that it is built.
This design is nice and does exactly whatt's suppossed to. It can be improved (hence the name V1; V is for Version) and plans are already underway to enhance the current dolly.
Just wanted to share; I am stoked.

Sounds cool John. Let's get that footage seen. I tried a homemade dolly that someone else made and I just wasnt happy with the results. If you have a smooth one, i'd love to see how it was built.

Sorry I lagged. *Damn FTP coding thingy; still trying to figure out my outland/dev site. Anyway....
Nothing terribly cinemtaic here but dolly test footage. INdoors, just me and my harrassment of the boy. I am pleased with the results and can imagine how cool it would be with an actual dolly grip and more than 10' of track.

Your "new collaborative partner" looks a little young and you may be breaking some labor laws there. ;)
