View Full Version : Running Out of Time!! (Really)

Hey Guys,

I'm really kinda vexed because the Time Fest deadline is fast approaching and I haven't been able to get production underway due to scheduling conflicts, life, etc. I don't know if I'll be able to get this thing done in time. (Irony!)

Here's my question. I have another concept that would fit the Time parameters of the fest but it's for a 3D animated short. It'd be a lot of work but since I'd be doing most of said work, it might be doable. I know 3D only includes virtual cameras as opposed to physical one but alot of the elements from filmmaking hold true in animation, (i.e.: camera angles and cinematography, lighting, etc.). Would that be an acceptable entry for the Fest? Would it be something you guys would be interested in seeing? Any feedback, suggestions, comments are definately welcome.

Thanks!!

Since we opened the fests to "all" cameras, that now includes virtual cameras. You are free to create an entirely animated piece if that is your choosing.

I too am feeling the "time" crunch. I have not started production on my entry yet either and am scrambling to make time to get it done and still leave at least a day or two for Leo to compose something for it.

Man, I need to file for an extension ... who runs these fests anyway?

I think that was a forfeit. I am in charge. New deadline: July 1. WOO HOO!

I am happy (kind of) to learn that there are others in my exact situation. We have the finished script collecting dust in my harddrive (is that possible?) but we haven't been able to film.

Were going to get help from Matt Sconce but our schedules conflicted. We tried to film last weekend, but stuff happened. Now we are hoping for this weekened but I am not sure if we will be able to edit it all and get the score in time.

I hope we will...

i think this is the first time i'm not running way behind on a project of this kind. I blame Nick though, he like wrote the movie and stuff... who does he think he is?

I think I am the greatest person to ever live! Just kidding...

Haha. Yup, all my fault you're on time! This is funny because I felt really bad when you needed me to write just at the moment I got really busy. I thought it took forever to get it done because things kept getting in the way, and I didn't want you to be mad. I think it is humerous how you didn't think it took too long. I don't know what I am saying. Anyway, I am glad you are getting it done, I can't wait to see it. As a writer it is always great for me to see my scripts come to life. Good luck!
