Struggling filmmakers have no money. It is a part of the definition. But what a filmmaker should have is creativity. Personally, me, I have no money, but oodles of creativity.

For christmas for a few friends, I'm not buying them gifts, but making them gifts.

Here is one for a friend, that I thought perhaps the Mac users of the DVX forum might enjoy.

Here's the file ...

http://www.djcolione.com/Audio/Gone_are_PCs_New_Mix.mp3

and here are the lyrics...

look at all those fancy macs
PCs are supposed to work just like that,
and what about your ram, you need more?
was it straight from the store in 1984?

and drives and disks and ipod things, bling bling,
those are only removable things
and what about your display does it shine,
are there 200 gigs of pics that need more than your time

gone, going
gone everything
gone give a damn
gone, be the PC's if they don't have the speed
gone, windows, all awkward with their things
gone

look at you out to make a deal,
you know a new 20D is just a steal,
and what about those shoes your in today
they'll be no good, if you buy a DVX along the way

you willing to sell anything?
don't be absurd,
ebay your ipod
cause a click wheel is perferred
gone windows all akward and consumed

gone, going
gone everything
gone give a damn *
gone, be the IE cause safari's got the speed
gone, windows, all awkward with their things
gone

... hope your christmas is as fun as mine. ;)

You know, you are hurting my feelings :'(. I have a house full of PCs, and if somebody wanted to trade them for Macs, I'd do it in a heartbeat. I love my computers but I hate the PC (or is it Windows?)

Sorry - no song from me. I suspect there are no PC lovers - only loser like myself, stuck with the second (third?) best.

I would agree insofar as there are no Windows lovers. The machine itself is another matter.

When I went to college it was all Mac. I told my instructors I was gonna graduate and do all my work on my little PC. They told me I could try. All through the course I was ridiculed (in a nice way) One day I had a wee problem with my PC (I'm aware Mac users NEVER have problems) I asked my instructors how to resolve my issues and was told " Don't ask us, we've never even turned a PC on!" Never turned one on....And yet they told me ad nauseum how second rate and useless the PC was. I'm a PC user and I'm proud! I like the Mac too, but I'm not about to pay double for a machine that is only equal to mine. One final thing...My PC is only a PC by virtue of the fact it runs Windows 2000, All the peices and parts were hand picked and assembled by me and were made by many competant teams of people who've enabled me to do anything a Mac can do. PS...I love my FORD too, It's every bit as good as a CHEVY. Computers are the Cat's ass ;D PSS Cool song Colione, thanks.
Rant, rant, rant...Blah, blah, blah..... ;)

Sigh

The MAC/PC debate.

There ain't (That's right, I said ain't) one thing the MAC can do that the PC cannot do and visa versa. I think MAC lovers buy into the hype too much. (Generally speaking; I'm not talking about MAC users but MAC Crusaders.)

I know a dude that has a PC and a Mac and he says they both rock.

Sigh

The MAC/PC debate.

Shit!!!... Three days before Christmas and I've made Jonh sigh :'(

Sorry John....Let's talk about the Atari 800xl, Now there's a machine worth writing a song about...Or the Timex sinclair, or the Co Co 2 ;D

PCs all the way! Macs to me just aren't near as intuitive. The icons look wack, the whole setup is just wackturtle. My opinion. I have turned one on, but it took me about 5 mins to figure out how to compose a letter. But I am stupider than the average sloppy joe. From now on, every friend of mine that owns a mac will get a late night visit. I will pour water on their hard drive.

Whoa!

Don't actually debate. Comical debates are fun, but real ones ruin christmas.

Mac / PC ... it's really just a matter of preference ... let's leave it at that.

Now comical debate ... who's gonna write a song?

Where's ..ummm...onehill, or treehill? something hill ... he posted his musical talents once before...

"PC's are better than macs ... ...SO DIEEEEEE!!!!"

Perfect.

Hey Colione...I started writing the comeback song this afternoon, Can't say when I'll get it done but I'm on it ;D

Hey John...I watched WARGAMES again last night seein as how I'm diong a job where two boxes spend all fraekin night rendering. Wow were there ever a lot of holes in that flic, I'd never noticed ;D

David, Coleco Adam wasn't represented cos I never got near one, seems to me that it came out on the cusp of the death of the whole small tv pushing computer era, just slightly post wargames.

Last year I went to Gary Fong's digital photography seminar and he was all bragging about his Mac and that it never crashed. *He never has problems. *This guy sitting in front had his Mac and was showing us pictures as he was bragging he never had problems. *Then his computer froze, he face went white, and it crashed. *Then the seminar got hung up because Fong' computer froze while he loading up pictures in Photoshop, then it crashed. *I never laughed so hard in my life, the Window closed on a Mac.

That's funny Muir...Truth be known, every system has it's problems. One factor I never see entered into the equation is that each system, no matter how good is only as good as it's operator. That is to say that there is maintenance to be performed with any system ie defrag, virus protection updates and a host of other stuff. I am more than willing to bet that poorlly maintained systems will go down more frequently than well managed ones. All systems eventually crash, It's the nature of computing! The more the op knows about the inner workings of the machine, the longer it works between problems, Mac/PC doesn't matter.
