Can someone help me? I drop my music file on the timeline, render it, but then it has a bad record sound, like the needle is hitting on some bad scratches, lol. It actually has a cool sound effect, but not for what I'm doing :undecided.
Has anybody had this before and knows how to fix it?
Thanx!

What format is your music? Needs to be 48Khz AIFF 16 bit stereo, or it won't work.

thanks, Shane,
I will check that. I don't even know what the format is. It's just music I'm taking out of Itunes.

#5 Imported music from CD or iTunes
Shane's Stock Answer #5: Importing music from CD or iTunes
To get music into FCP, it needs to be an AIFF file at 48khz, 16 bit stereo. So if you want a song from a CD, you go into the iTunes Preferences, click on ADVANCED and set this up under the IMPORTING tab:
AIFF
Sample Rate - 48.000 kHz
Sample size - 16 bit
Channels - Stereo
If you have an mp3 that you want to use, then you can convert it thru iTunes as well. As long as this is chosen as your import option, when you select a clip and click on the ADVANCED menu, CONVERT TO AIFF will be an option.
If the piece of music you want to use is something you purchased thru iTunes, I'm afraid I can't help you there. There are copywrite issues that prevent files from being converted into the format that FCP can recognize.

Thanks for your help. I changed all the settings but the noise continues. I got this song from a CD. How weird, eh?

didn't see that you double posted...
I would re-import the CD using the AIFF settings in iTunes. you could also try converting it with QT Pro or Compressor.
