Just read about this awesome firmware hack for Canon point-and-shoot cameras (non-permanent firmware so it doesn't damage your Canon camera--it stays on the SD card).
Turns out my little Canon A710 Powershot can shoot RAW after all!! Among other things.
Check it out if you have a Canon point-and-shoot. I've been using it this morning and it's cool:
