Pay no attention. I'm just rambling, yammering, waiting for the heating guy to show up so it will be more than 60 degrees in here...

Shooting my very first actual real not-just-messing-around film tomorrow morning. With a script and actors and everything. Even someone holding my pole.

Um...the mic boom pole. Silly people.

First time directing, first time cinematographying, first time lighting.

My girlfriend is all pissed off because she's 1000 miles away and I'll be in a bedroom filming (ok, video-taping) a naked woman.

I won't tell the actress I'm doing it wide-screen...she might take it as an insult.

Hope I "calibrated" the LCD well enough...will feel really silly if the footage is unuseable... Got DV Rack, but no laptop...so...

Hey! I can fix it in post, right?

Oh, crap. Gotta write the score, too. Eh, later. No sense in worrying about inconsequentials.

Let's see...batteries are charged, boxes and boxes of MQs available...uh-oh...still have to make the .6 sunshield today sometime, in case I use it instead of just the stock lens.

What else? What else? Grrrrrr....wish I had a real tripod instead of this Hama thing.

Gonna feel silly saying "Action!". Probably just mumble "OK, ready. Go ahead. Act."

Oh, great. Widescreen and a wide angle adapter. Definitely not going to mention that to her. Heh heh.

Well, at least I won't feel like a fraud answering questions here after tomorrow. Never felt it was right knowing things without the actual experience of doing. Like a virgin talking about sex. Kinda like marriage counselling from a priest. Duh.

Yeah, I know. Christmas Eve. But, like I said, my girlfriend is 1000 miles away. Nothing good on TV tomorrow, so might as well make a movie.

Damn, it's cold in here.

ha!! ha! Well, good luck.Interesting analogies there...Then, I'm sure you'll agree, there is a first for everything..and while your first try may not be "stellar," it will be memorable :)

Damn, it's cold in here.

I love heat. Wearing two pairs of socks, and I'm california!

lastly, good luck with the naked woman scene..and make sure the room is heated..:)

Good luck tomorrow. I'm sure you'll do great! *Wait, is this short for the December DVX Contest? Because, if you've got a naked woman in your movie, there's NO chance for the rest of us! *>:(

Wow, first film and he's shooting a naked woman while his girlfriend is 1000 miles away. On Christmas Eve. hmmm, wonder how many guys on this board are willing to trade places with him... haha!! ;D

And no one has told him to make sure he posts some grabs? What's up with you guys?

Anyway, get the heat up there at your place, stay warm. I just drove down south to my mom's where a t-shirt and jeans means you are overdressed.

Also, on the "action", the shoots I've been on so far, people have just said in a nice tone "Okay, go" or "When you're ready". They let the crew know that's what was gonna be said and it made for more relaxed atmosphere. The actors didnt "tighten up" or get weird on hearing "action!"

Lotsa good wishes for your shoot!

Dude, its 60 degrees and you're cold?!

Actually, I'm not sure what the temp was...no thermometer here, so it was just a guesstimate.

But, yeah. I like it HOT. Normally, I get home and the clothes go whooooosh, off me and onto the floor or wherever.

But there was a nasty winter breeze running through my apartment. Brrrrr....

But Mr Heating Man came and made everything toasty again.

Oh, well. Off to bed. Got an early day tomorrow.

(How'm I gonna fit all this stuff in a Sebring? Sheesh.)

I think I need to see a doctor.

I spent yesterday morning with an often-naked woman and didn't pay attention to anything but framing and making sure she hit her marks.
