hello

I have a question about hvx200a - is it completely new model, or it is possible to upgrade firmware of hvx200, and this way get better parameters of picture as in hvx200a.

It's not a completely new model, but the improvements are not software improvements, they are hardware improvements...

Basically the same thing with a new sensor block that is supposed to be better in lowlight, be more smear resistant, and have less noise than the original HVX.

The HPX170 will be more like a "new" HVX with some hardware changes, and new features, and the same new sensor block that the 200a has. That's coming around September, I think.

Later,
Jason

Thanks a lot for help..

Is it possible to change the old sensor block in hvx200 into new one or do I have to simply buy a new hvx200a? Maybe there are any other methods to improve the old hvx200 into hvx200a?

i'm sure the cost of "upgrading" an hvx200 would not be worth it. if you're that concerned with it, I'd suggest selling your hvx200 and then buying a 200a. if your hvx200 is in great condition i'm sure you can get atleast $3500 for it. and just a wild guess but probably anything dealing with replacement of a chip in an hvx200 would be well over $1500.
