first off, let me just say...

here's what you google and key words to search for in within dvxuser...

magic bullet
35mm adapter
widescreen
2:35
color correction
sound for film (just as important as visuals!!)
lighting for film
lighting (in general)
directing 101
production workflow
directing actors
and much more...

...trust me--you've got a lot of research ahead of you. It's like buying a musical instrument and saying, "now how do i get the classical orchestra sound?".

there is an abundance of threads dedicated to this topic. And don't forget: this is a wholistic task. Meaning there is no one trick, answer, or key to solving it. Listen, once you get all the info laid out in front of you, chances are you're going to feel overwhelmed. Don't freak out, and don't feel like crap if your first tests/shorts look like crap. keep at it! practice makes perfect, and in film it's not all about theory and research, you have to go out and shoot it before you really know what you're doing.

Hope this steers you in the right direction--at least a bit. The best thing you can do right now is to be patient and to read anything and everything! this community has more valuable information then anywhere else on the web--period. You've come to the right place! Good luck to you, and happy shooting!
