Advice on Mixing 720P/24PN and MiniDV Tape

I have one 16GB P2 card which gives me 40 minutes of shooting time at 720P Native/24PN mode...and right now I can't really afford another P2 card.

I understand that I could switch over to tape when the P2 runs out but at that point I am shooting straight DV...but do I have a choice of DV formats and, if so, which one would you recommend that would match as best as possible with the P2 material since the final video will need to include material from both the P2 card and the MiniDV tape.

I am having a bit of trouble understanding the Recording Format chart in the manual but it looks like I could do 480i/24P while in tape mode, is that correct and would you suggest that mode?

FYI, because my stuff ends up on the Web the final dimension is typically 480x270.

just my personal opinion, but if your destination is the web, I would just record everything to tape. but what are you shooting? if it is not long events, you can dump the P2 card to a laptop, then reuse it.

If you shoot DV, you'll want it to be 24pA (not 24p) to match the 720/24pN.

If you do decide to shoot all DV, then shoot it to the card, not tape.
