I just bought a Canon HF-100 camera and am wondering if anyone else has this camera, and what do they use to edit, and encode with?

I purchased this for my primary everyday camera for family use, and or anything requiring a smaller camera.

My normal HVX200 can not be taken everywhere.

So far, I have converted the avchd footage to cineform 1280x720, and edited that in premiere, then output that into WMV at 5000 kbps.

I am not happy with the result as it is nothing like the original footage.
I may try using a higher bit rate, as I have heard others using 8000, but that initially seemed high.

As for the camera, I think this is the best small camera out there.
The AVCHD seems a little desaturated, but the 24p footage shoots smooth without jitter, even in the pans.

My only complaint is the full zoom, as it looks noticably soft to my eyes.

I just placed an order for the Panasonic HDC-SD9 at BHPhotovideo, but now im having second thoughts. I have read so many reviews and forums trying to decide between the HDC-SD9 and the HF10, but chose the SD9 in the end because I thought it will just cut better with my HVX200 footage.

Does anyone have the same dilema as me? HF10 looks good though, though at times I felt it was a little sharp to me. I like SD9's motion and picture for the most part, but the irky saturation in some sample footage really turns me off.

Im not a resolution person. I don't need pristine clear HD footage, I just need the image to feel right. And both SD9 and HF10 have their flaws. What should i do?? T.T:embarasseMaybe I will just have a sudden urge tonight, and change my order to HF10 tomorrow morning.
