Hi guys, another newbie question.
Is the adapter that holds an external mic included with the camera.
By having one, does any mic fit, such as this one?

The mic adaptor comes with the camera, and it will hold a Senn ME66. That's what I use.

Any mic doesn't fit. I have a Rode NTG-1 that fits perfectly. My NT-3 is too fat.
The Sennheiser should fit.
Before you blow $750 on a kit (which looks like a very nice kit, BTW), I would get the new sound DVD listed at the sticky under DVX store. About $70 at finer web sites everywhere.
As for the mount on the camera, you'll almost never use it. Boom pole with a cable feed for everything but a wedding (or a mic stand for still shots). If you don't want to buy the DVD, search under the sound forum for tips and reviews of products.
And don't forget a boom operator/sound man. Hard to hold the pole while you're watching the camera and talent.

If you need an on board mount buy a K tek mount rather than use your standard mount. You'll get fewer "fingerprints" on your sound track from a K-tek than you will from the stock mount.

Yes, the stock mount isn't that great. If you get a simple rubberband-style shock mount it will help alot.
I have a ME66 and if I'm using the standard mount the mic occasionally dips into frame. It's a longer mic. That kit comes with a shock mount that you should be able to use directly on-camera. That's what I do on my doc work.

I use the Panasonic supplied mic mount with a Sennheiser 416 and it works fine as long as I attach the cable to something behind the mic.
