Starting a shoot in June and looking at maybe purchasing an HVX200a. I already have 2 HVX200s and 1 HPX500. For those who have one, I'm wondering what everyone's first impressions of the 200a compared to the 200 are. I guess I'm wondering how much everyone has noticed less noise in the camera, and better low light performance. I may be doing underwater shooting with the camera in lower light area... I guess I just want some real world opinions on how much better the 200a is than the 200... and is it really noticeable? Will it match up better with an HPX2000? or are they just minor tweaks really? Also, is the imager a true 1.1 million pixel imager, and does it make a difference in sharpness?

Just recieved my hvx200a from ups. I was so axious to see if all the buz was hype or not that I hooked the cam up to my monitor imediately. All I can say is the 200a is a freak. I mean I cranked the gain up to 12db and it was still more than exceptable in low light. This one is a keeper.

Twisted Lincoln performed a good side-by-side.

The links to the two images are at the bottom of the post. If they aren't there, just email me cause I have them too.:)

Pretty impressive.

that looks pretty good. I just had a shoot with my HVX200 and the same kind of lighting on my back off-white wall (ambient fall off whatever left over light) and I did also get a lot of noise. But the HVX200a seems to greatly reduce this by your pictures. Think the HPX500 is cleaner than the HVX200a?
