I am looking at getting and apple soon to work with my DVX and (in the future) a HVX and I am wondering what I should look for harware wise given I would be using Final Cut Pro for the editing. I cannot buy brand new..

I have an opportunity to buy an Imac 20" with 2ghz intel with 2g of Ram for 1500.00 cdn inclu the FCPro 5 (registered version) from a friend or should I go to a G4 or G5 tower (min - 1.25 hz for FCP - prefer dual processor) and go that route.. not sure because I do want to get a lot more into editing from those cameras - not hvx yet.

thanks in advance for advice..

The newer intel iMac will be better than the G4 or G5 tower.

Whatever Mac you buy, go to their refurb section. Just google refurb mac and you'll find the link on the Apple site.

Same computer. Same software. Same warranty. 30% lower price.

Thanks guys.. I did buy a dual G4 Ghz this morn with 2mb ext memory, 160g hd, NVideo card for 400 dollars. I will make the money of this one to buy a more powerful machine later this summer.
