There has got to be a simple answer for this, and I have looked through the manual, looked at Panasonic's web site, done forum searches, etc.

Perhaps my brain ain't working like it should?

I have been shooting with the AG-HVX200P For a few months now and most things have gone well. I have managed to figure out FCP integration, etc.

I have two 16 gb p2 cards, and my normal shooting mode is 720/30p. I used to be able to record 64 minutes with the two cards. The manual says I should be able to shoot for 64 minutes.

However I only have 35 minutes of recording time after formatting both cards.

Did I read/remember this wrong? Its driving me crazy! but I could swear that I had over an hour of record time.

I also have not been able to figure out the difference between 720/30p and 720/30pn

I hope this is an easy one

Thanks

If you're shooting in 720/30PN or 720/24PN ("native") modes, only the unique frames are recorded to P2. If you are shooting 720/30p, it is likely in a 60 frame stream which means less capacity.

Thanks for your answer. I suspect that I might have been shooting in the native format as opposed to the 720/30p when I was getting longer shoot times.

The technical aspects of all the different cameras I shoot with occasionally blend together, so a little clarity from another is very helpful.

Plus we PNW must stick together.
