My HVX inexplicably went dead. It won't power on with a battery. It powered on with an AC adapter, but all I get is the display and no picture. It didn't recieve any rough treatment or liquid. I'm at a loss. Any ideas, besides calling Panny tech support or sending it off for repair?

Reset doesn't work, but that was with a battery. My AC adapter is at work, maybe it'll work when I use that.

I just purchased a new HVX200A yesterday. I charged the batteries last night and was all excited for a day of shooting stock footage today but mine is doing the same thing. Won't turn on. Tried three fully charged batteries and the power supply and nothing. No clicks, no lights, nothing. I've rented the HVX200 a bunch of times and never had an issue.

Hi,
With the new camera, call your dealer and see if he has another one for a quick replacement. On the old camera, call Panasonic ASAP.
Was there a full moon we missed?
Thanks,
Jan

Thanks for responding Jan. Yes, I did contact my dealer and they said they will replace it asap. I'm glad to hear this rarely happens. I owned a DVX 100 for five years and never had one issue with it so I'm confident my HVX200A replacement will work fine.
