Thought you XP users might be interested that Microsoft has given the public access to "Avalon," the DirectX-replacing technology that will allow developers to create very snazzy, vector-animated programs (ala Mac OSX). Windows UI enhancements are likely as well.
By the time it's finally released as an add-on to Windows XP, there should be plenty of great apps available.
