Ha! - ;D
Serves him right. Proposing at a sporting event is lame [IMO]

I sort of agree Dakota, but I'm also struggling with my proposal and the guy probably thought it would be cool :/ Who knows. All I do know is that my girl has been "kindly" telling me that my proposal better not be cheesy. Man, why can't they just be happy with the ol' on one knee thing anymore?

Ask around to all the girls you know. I bet you will find ZERO that would think a billboard type of proposal is "cool"
Nothing wrong with the old fashioned bended knee - Just do it somewhere she thinks is romantic. Like a monster truck rally or something. ;D
Ask around - Her friends will know best.

Wow. I actually don't really feel that sorry for the guy. Not only cheesy, but a bit of peer pressure on his girlfriend. Nothing wrong with bended knee, just not during the "hot and cold" contest.

Her ass was huge anyway. :D
Damn, did you see her run into the arms of another man that quickly?
I wish we could have seen more of his reaction.

That was wrong; at least spare the man in front of everyone.

Shit, I felt embarassed just watching it. :-[
Poor guy. I can't think of anything that would hurt more than that. Ouch.
He was asking for it though... who would propose at a game?
Hold on a sec fellas, if it were her favorite team, and she was super into basket ball than it totally makes sense.
I have a friend who is insanely into hockey, if a guy proposed to her like that at a Shark's game she would freak out.
That being said, you'd better be DAMN sure she's going to say yes if your going to do that.
Great point TC. Didn't think of that as none of the girls I hang around with are big into sports.

Her ass was huge anyway. *:D
I laughed so hard, I practically spit on my monitor!
poor fella, though, she did the right thing by not "pretending' and playing along..but that move out the door--- was about as quick-thinking, smart, and considerate as the Ashlee Simpson SNL "jig"...
that said. If and when the time comes for me, it better be on a DVX. and I know I am just lame enough to ask, "are you recording?"
ha!
and I know I am just lame enough to ask, "are you recording?"
That is the greatest statement any woman has ever made on this board.

Nah, she just wants to have a blackmail material for later times...
"Watch this! See? That was when you still loved me! Now where's that new <Chrosziel/Anamorphic/Mini35 (choose one)> you've been promising to buy for me?"

Seriously, though...
Bending the knee is kind of romantic, but it's cheesy in and by itself. I think they only do it in North America. Us barbarians from east of the GMT+1 time zone, we just say, in a post-coital numb sort of voice "hey babe, let's get hitched" - while she's sooo happy she just won't say no.
Just make sure she's not faking it. ;)

wonder how much money that guy blew to pull that off

I dunno . . . I'm starting to think it was staged. She's noticeably unperturbed when she's stopped by the other guy . . .
