Xl1s. I heard they used a 35mm for some shots, but it looked dv all the way.

i thought this movie rocked. it looked soo delicious. when i was leaving the theater i heard people denouncing it because it was shot on DV (the ones that could tell, that is). it was a real boost of enthusiasm to see a 'film' on the big screen shot on DV. being a suspense/thriller/horror 'film' and not a documentary or some other format that would lend itself to video nicely just makes the theatrical DV film making industry that much more credible. do yourself a favor and check this movie out.

Will I learn something from watching this movie in the theater? I like DVD's of movies shot on DV cause they have all the fancy behind the scenes stuff which is like film school for me.

i don't know if you will learn anything from seeing the movie in the theater, obviously they can't have the extra fewtures that DVD's sport. but there's nothing like seeing a movie on the big screen. the DVD probably wont take too long to come out because it's came out on DVD in europe sometime in may, i believe.

Just heard that they are changning the ending on the film and re-releasing it. Appearently, they did some screenings before it's premiere and noone liked the original ending. Now they want to stick it back on. You should see it before they do just in case it is really bad. Who knows it might be great.

Either way, I am sure that when the DVD come out it will be chalked full of info for dv film makers.

yes, everyone should also watch the personal velocity DVD, it is like DV filmschool in a box.. even though they used the PD-150.

The original happy ending was shot on 35mm and it reallly was a jolting difference. The 35mm looked beautiful after seeing all the lo-rez, but it didn't fit with the rest of the film. The alternate ending is now being shown at theaters tagged on after the credits.
The alternate ending actually was the original director's ending, but after initial test screenings, the filmmakers decided to make a happy ending, which I think was a mistake.

I saw the film, and although it wasn't what I expected (i.e. it wasn't "scary" like it was being hyped, at least not to me), I did enjoy it and I had no idea until this thread that it was shot on DV.

Impressive...even if it was shot with that other camera. :-)

yes, after they escape, 35mm starts at the end, when they show those dead bodies by the bridge and jets going by. that's all 35mm.
but it takes an effort to notice- just tells you how deep he takes you into the story.
