Stingers: Homemade V. Retail??

Does any have any advice on the best place to get stingers. I've got cords for my smaller lights, but I just recently picked up some 1ks and 2ks and I'm looking for the best DIY solution or any advice on where I can get used ones.

Right now I feel that the most cost effective solution is to buy 12/3 rated cord and replace the ends with 20A hubbles. Or is this one of those things that you just have to suck it up and buy the real deal?

It is hard to find off the shelf stingers off sufficient quality for our business. You can buy them from grip supply companies, but they are doing exactly as you plan. Just buy quality cable and connectors and build your own. However, this is still way more expensive than the cheapo lawn and garden extension cables.

I built my own using the same wire but sold at hardware store and it cost about $10 more then the ones i could have bought at filmtools.com
