question about P2 card internal components between sizes

just wondering if anyone knows or has any info on this.

other than larger SD cards in the RAID inside the P2 card, have there been any other changes in the internal operation/components inside the cards between the P2 card, models from 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, 16GB and 32GB cards?

It's my understanding that the original cards (2GB, 4GB, 8GB) all included SD cards inside. When they went to the 16GB cards, they started calling them the "R Series", and I think that when they did that they moved away from using SD cards and instead just started putting the raw memory components in directly.
