Short story: Shooting indy feature; have only two batts/one charger.
Where in this world would we find Panasonic batteries for the HVX? (to purchase, not rent)
I've heard the DVX batts will comply as well.
There's uber steadicam work and the two batts we have are Panasonic 7.2V 5400mAh-- buying different brands or larger batts (which I have found...) and having to switch b/t the two would make hassle as far as balance for steadicam, but finding this battery has been impossible for some reason.
And of course, money is always an issue :)
We shoot...soon.
Any good words?

I just realized-- does the increase in mAh dictate ANY change in weight? I can't find such specs...
Because that would solve everything... :)

I haven't ordered from any of these sites, but you might want to check them out anyways:

Thx Luis, I really like the look of the batts from this site.
Esp b/c that long-life cell!
Another charger and we should be good to go.

Only if they're telling the truth, and they're not. As far as I know, every manufacturer who's claiming more than 5600mah is not telling the truth. There are no batteries bigger than 5600mah in the DVX form factor. I know some advertise as 6000mah, but it just ain't so. Didn't Alex Dolgin put 'em to the test and verify that they're no bigger than the 5600's? I'm pretty sure I read that.

Interesting. The new battery Spec-Comm sent me with my HVX is labeled 6000mah. The HVX uses the same battery as the DVX, yes?

Not that it really matters, it was a free battery, but seems odd nonetheless.

Barry-
So would the dvxuser batteries be the best bet?
If the cell life to true, then two batteries would make a steadicam day.

Jarred is the best one to direct battery questions to, as he actually makes and sells them. From a user-centric point of view, many of us recommend the DVXUser batteries because a) they're great, and b) the sale of those batteries goes to help support the site.

But, on the other angle, I've heard repeatedly from different sources that the claims of anybody putting out more than 5600mah are just not true. Doesn't matter who claims it, it isn't true -- unless, of course, something has changed between then and now.

Thanks a million for all the input--
the dvxuser batts seem to be the best deal

Yeh, I've had 3 batteries on order for a couple weeks now and they don't know when they will get in.
Wonder what the problem is?
