I am not new to shooting, but fairly new. I have had an HVX-200 for 8 months and have done primarily indoor shooting. Monday I did an outdoor shoot and had a problem. My image was so blown out I had to set the ND filter to 1/64 in the sunlight. My shutter was a 1/48, and i had everything else on automatic. We had clouds roll in and I was able to take of the ND filter and adjust the f stop.

I was told for outoor shooting that I neded to adjust the shutter speed.

For those that know the HVX did I have a problem with my camera? I was thinking maybe I needed a full softwar:Drogar-Thinking(DBGe reset or a firmware update. Should i update any firmware or how do I reset the camera to factory settings.

Any knowledge will help. I am hoping I don't have a problem with the camera.

I've had to use my 1/64 many times...it's not unusual if it's a very sunny day.

I doubt you have a problem with the camera. I've had the exact same experience. The fact is that everyone has to learn how to deal with both too much light and too little light, regardless of the camera in question.

For too much light, some suggest getting polarizing or UV filters. I'm planning on getting a 35mm lens adapter, which will result in light loss (which I'm counting on!).
