Making text appear through CC light sweep.

Hey guys, i'm trying to figure out how to make a text appear during CC light sweep.

meaning, after the light sweeps across the text, instead of the text disappearing, i want it to stay visible, while it finishes the sweep...to basically reveal all text.

if theres a way to do that with light sweep or anything else, or another way, that'll help me out alot.

Create a solid and animate it along with your light sweep, then use that as a mask to reveal a duplicate of the text layer.

almost exactly what I do, except i just mask the text and use an adjustment layer on top of the text.
