Hey guys, Just bought my first flash an SB-800 for my D-80. I have no idea how to use it or how the menus work any of you care to share some advice, pointers, suggestions or a link to some good tutorials I tried looking but I just can't find any.

Like I have no idea what the hell TTL means or any of the stuff on there and the Nikon booklet just completly makes my head hurt.

TTL = through the lens

strobist.blogspot.com

Go read there and then go to Nikonians.org

then go to bythom.com and buy a guide

I agree with Jeremy, but I will tell you that Strobist leans very heavily on manual settings. Not that there is anything wrong with doing it that way, but the Nikon CLS is very good. The CLS is their Creative Lighting System and it is used for off camera flash while utilizing the auto settings of TTL. If you look back through the threads here, you can see some of Alverez head shots that he did using an SB-600, a bounce umbrella, and Nikon's CLS to control exposure. Once you know how to set it up, it is very easy to use.
