BACKGROUND
I've recorded and transferred all kinds of DVC25 and DVCProHD (no DVCPro50) and without a glitch - perhaps nearly a 1000 offloads or even more. However, most of all the DVCProHD has been 1080x1920 and a little 720HD stuff but never a 24pN.

On Saturday I recorded about 240 Gb's of video using 16GB P2 cards on a Dec 2006 purchased camera and three P2 cards in the cyclical workflow.

PROBLEM
I have feared this from day one but never experienced any issues with the P2 workflow and just this week have been in discusions about P2 reliability and wouldn't one know it, I encounter my first problem therein.

I've just recorded about 240GB of 720HD@24pN, copied to an external WD 500GB SATA drive through a laptop as 100's and 100's of times before. At the conclusion of copies, using the P2 formatter, the cards were reformatted and recycled.

On the first 20 minutes of video all the video is fine and so is the audio. Thereafter and all the way through until the last 12 minutes there is no video, just audio.

I've tried importing the material into Avid Xpress Pro, Avid Liquid and Edius Broadcast and all three see the same thing . . no video from the approximate 20 minute mark through about 220 to 230 minutes. I've checked the properties and it shows audio by no live video.

Also, please keep in mind that the 240 minutes of production represents several different card cycles.

Also, and for what it's worth upon booting the laptop to transfer the files from the card through the computer to the external HDD the computer booted lousy and acted up and even locked up on the card which we've seen before but never lost anything and forgot that the P2 Card cannot be inserted till after the computer boots up. I don't know if others experience this issue but if the P2 Card is in the machine at boot up, the computer stalls and the card locks up. Yet, put the same card in 1 minute after boot up and all is well and fine.

Any help here will greatly be appreciated.
