Shooting in SD to DV tape...

Hey, Im going to hire an HVX to shoot a music video. Im probably going to shoot in SD onto DV tape, because im not bothered about HD, and I dont want to hire a P2 card...

I have read that SD recorded to DV tape looks crappy.. is that true? (I'll be shooting at 25p).

Would a DVX look better? This may possibly be a low light situation, and ive heard the DVX handles this better... Unfortunately the hire place near me doesnt do these anymore, thats why I'm probably going with HVX.

See what the cost difference will be between shooting SD to tape or shooting SD DVCPro 50 to P2.

If they don't charge too much more, go with DVCPro 50 to P2 because you will get a much better picture quality out of it.

Also make sure that, even though you don't need HD for your preference, that the market you are aiming for does not need it either.
