though i posted the following query in the other post but later on found out that this is probably the right place for this one
my question
has anybody shot dvcpro50 with hvx200? how does it come vis-a-vis dv25 and other bigger cameras that caryy 2/3inch chip and shoot dvcpro50?
is there a visual comparison available shomewhere?
i would also like to know if anybody tested hvx200a in terms of its better ccd quality, better low light performance etc?

I shot one small project in dvcpro50 and the hvx does a remarkably good job for a $5K 1/3 camera . . . nice detail, sharpness, color, etc. This was on all factory default settings. When I transferred it to dvd and watched it on my old Sony Trinitron I was amazed that it looked just as good (to me anyway) as my old Sony Betacam BVW300 which is 2/3 chip. For what it's worth . . .

I use DV50 most of the time, it really holds colors much better and is great for keying.

I've shot some DVCPro50, and, to my eyes, the color IS much better. Unfortunately, I didn't shoot the same footage in anything lesser, so I have nothing to show for comparison. Even though it's still considered Standard Def, don't be afraid to use DVCPro50. In fact, if you have the resources to record, store, and edit the footage, I'd encourage you to use DVCPro50.

Here (http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=67011) is a comparison that Barry Green did of the different recording formats when put on a dvd. Later in the thread he posts the uncompressed versions. I hope that helps.
