After using a couple of motorized lights the other night (search google "ispot lights") I was wondering if the light could be disconnected and replaced with a camera mount?
Just an idea...think of it what you will...

Need a link. When I google "ispot light", all I get is a Yahoo question/answer page about some girl spotting light pink blood stains after having sex.
I really could have done without that.

I based my remote head that I built on a Martin Mac500. Its a standard moving body light that I have used on TV and live shows.
It is controlled via standard DMX which is a simple protocol using pulse width managment. If you know anything about PICs you could easily program a joystick to move the head in the way you need. All you would need to do is take the lighting part out and replace it with the camera. Only thing is these lights are expensive and complicated. A new Mac500 is afew thousand. There are cheaper lights out there (the Acme Spot Knight is quite cheap, might be able to pick one up on ebay or something.
A freind fished 15 moving lights out of a skip a few weeks ago. They were thrown out by the BBC because they wouldn't pass health and safety regulations :Drogar-SunGlass(DBG
I've thought about that...

The names say it all really, cheapdjgear and cheaplights... You get what you pay for.
Moving heads are certainly cheaper than they used to be, the cheapest was about £800 5 or 6 years ago when i was into lighting....
