I just found out about adromeda today when looking at using uncompressed SD from the DVX. On the real stream forums it appears as though Juan has dissapeared. Does anyone know where he went? What happened to this technology, it seems revolutionary. It seems so simple in theory, could someone else figure it out using what they know about adromeda?
I am sure there are other threads about the topic, the only one I found was the save adromeda thread.

What's the deal?

He was bought out and closed up shop.

No one knows by whom.

I'll see if he is at any of the booths tomorrow at NAB.

I would imagine that companies wouldn't want this getting out. Making a dvx HD? that would be a serious threat to alot of companies, panasonic included. But this technology in essence, wouldn't it be a "simple" ( I use that term loosely) reprogramming of the software within the dvx. I am assuming there are no hardware changes as that would result in a new camera completely, but rather changes in the way the camera compress and encodes footage. Is there any way to get uncompressed SD from the DVX other then Andromeda?

I just find this really interesting.

Not really any other known ways, andromida was amazing. You can find cameras that have he andro mod done to them tho.

Maybe he sold his technology to RED. It would explain alot of things wouldn't it?

I've seen some footage of like a lime in seltzer water that was 720p. shot with a dvx. I wish I could find that footage again. Is that the guy that got bought out?
