HELP! converting 720pn to 1080i

I shot 720 24pn footage with the HVX, and now i need to upres it to 1080i. I've tried doing it and everytime it either ends up looking more choppy, or completely like video (losing the progressive look). Can anyone tell me what the best way to do this is?

I just transcoded all of my formats (24pn and others) into 1080i to make a demo reel. It was done through Sorenson squeeze into a quicktime movie... so it does work - not sure though if your using compressor - but good luck
