greetings all,

Wondering if anyone can recommend and or give into on whether any cam company manufactures a small handycam that's CCD not CMOS thats about the size of like an HV20. We are having some issues with the rolling shutter on our helicopter shoots. Not so on a CCD camera but I don't want to go to a DVcam. Would like to stay in a HD format. Any and all info appreciated.

I've been impressed by the video from the HDC-SD9, although I haven't handled one. You might want to check that out.

The SD9 is about it, I think all the others are CMOS aren't they? The SD9 or the HSC1U; hopefully Panasonic will have a "pro" version of the SD9 next week at NAB.

See my post over in HVX200 General News.

I've shot some test footage (at Costco) with the SD9 at 1080/24p which is true progressive.

Looks good even some moderate pans.

Thanks guys. I"m going to check into this for our helicopter stuff as I don't think the HV20 is going to work at all. Just too much to deal with as far as the vibration and the movements and all that jazz. The CMOS just isn't the way and its unfortunate because the image is really nice, but when it's bad it's really bad and we can't call it a solution as a result.

cheers all and is NAB really that close... wow. Barry will you be there? Giving us a report?
