P2 FCP Log & Transfer Error on (interval record) - all others ok? [Have workaround ]

Hi Guys, have experienced an "error" during FCP for LOG and CAPTURE for a single clip from one of the P2 cards taht was recored in INTERVAL RECORD mode..

The "erroneous" clip was an INTERVAL RECORDing as follows:

2fps
interval = 2secs
720P50 (not PN as it wont work like that in I.R mode)
video camera mode


CLip plays back fine from:

HVX-200 camera from the P2 card
the FCP LOG and TRANSFER UI
the P2CMS.app


Additionally all the other clips other than this one can be successfully imported through FCP L&T.

Software:

FCP 6
QT 7.4
HVX-200 firmware 4.06-00-0.00


I have trawled this forum and others and can't see a hit on this.

HAs anyone else had this problem or can share some light on this?

I have tried it again and the same thing happens.. seems to be when I use INTERVAL recording.

MY workaround to get the clip, was to pull the VIDEO portion from p2card/CONTENTS/VIDEO/0004E8.MXF and export with QUICKTIME Player. Not interested in the audio naturally.

I'm up and going however would like to know if this is pilot error or how it is.

Any ideas?

FCP just plain refuses to import perfectly good clips. So don't use FCP to import the clips. Use Raylight, or P2 Log Pro, or HD Log. Or, if you've got P2CMS installed, you can drag the MXF file right to the timeline. Since it was an interval-mode clip you won't have any audio, so I'd just do that.

Thanks BArry dragging them with P2CMS works great. Also FCP IMPORT video pnly from p2card/CONTENTS/VIDEO/0004E8.MXF in FCP BIN also work.
