Hello everyone! I'm going to be as specific as possible here because I need to figure out my issue as quickly as possible.

We just finished shooting a flick on a Panasonic HVX-200 onto P2 chips. As the cards would fill we would download the footage onto a 500gb Iomega external hard drive formatted for a mac. The only "change" I did to anything was that I changed the name and just the name of each "CONTENTS" folder to the actual scenes we were shooting so for instance we would change the name of "CONTENTS" to "BEACH SCENES" and would drop it onto the hard drive, erase the files and put the card back in the camera.

We then returned all of our equipment.

Next day we get our mac g5 that we've rented from a post production company with Final cut pro 6.x. We've set up the external hard drive and it's working just fine and the mac is seeing the hard drive, the files are there, but we can't get them to import into fcp by using the import or the log and transfer methods.

We spoke with a friend who said the only way to do that is if we had the last clip text file for each folder which like a-holes we don't because being a Windows user, we didn't know that was important in the least.

Soooooo....... now what??

Is there any way to get this into FCP?? Please? anyone? :dankk2:

You CANNOT change the name of the CONTENTS folders. That's your problem.

Change all those folders back to CONTENTS and it should work fine. If you changed the name to "BEACH SCENES", then make a new directory called "BEACH SCENES" and put the CONTENTS folder within it.

Thank you. I'm a dork. It works now following your advice. Just in case anyone else reads this, I had to make sure that all the folders were named "CONTENT" and then dropped them into parent folders with the last clip.txt and then used the log and transfer command in FCP.
