Does anyone know of any shops that might offer a trade in on cameras? I am thinking of getting rid of my DVX100 and picking up a DVX100A. I only have 00100 on the Hour meter. I know some shops like B&H and EVS buy used equipment but I am not sure if they will negotiate the difference in price for a new camera.

If you trade in, you almost always get underpaid for that item. I'd say that your best bet would to try and sell it.

Absolutely - Sell it privately and use the jack towards your new purchase.

I agree. Put it up 4 sale in the Market section of DVXuser.
Do it. Do it.
Good luck!

yea that is what I will do....I am thinking that I need to take it somewhere to get appraised so I can have an idea what to sell it for. A good local camera shop maybe?

Search the model on eBay - Gives you a fair ballpark on value.

Dakota's right. eBay has numerous used DVX100's. Compare and contrast. You can do an advanced search for auctions that have ended. That's what you want to check. Auctions that have ended.
Just to give you an idea. I bought my DVX100 (202 hrs) for $2000. Unless you have some awesome accessories you're not going to get more than $2400-$2500. Sorry, but that's the nature of the beast. Good luck!
I would agree with PK, $2200-2400 for 10 hrs., maybe better depending on the buyer. List it privately, and you will make more money ;) Take LOTS of digi-pics, and post them on a site so that a ebayer can see the pictures supersized. Also shoot the LCD and VF in action, so that a shopper can see there are no dropped pixels, and also take closeups of the lens glass so they can see there are no scratches. Good luck. ;D
PK, I miss your old avatar ;D
