Im looking for a camcorder in the $700 price range that will record 720p24 or 720p30. All i could find is the Samsung HMX10c but i hear its terrible in low light.

So do you have any suggestions of what i should get/look into?

For slightly more, (around $800), you can get a Canon HF-100, which shoots 24p.
The footage is actually 1920x1080, but downconverst perfectly to 720/24p.

It shoots in AVCHD onto SDHC memory cards..no tape, no hard drive failure.

How about the HMX10c's big brother? The SC-HMX20C/XAA

Sounds promising... http://www.dv.com/columns/columns_item.php?articleId=196604125

With $700 you should have many choices, I suggested you to have a look at the Sony camcorders.
