3 years ago one of my daughters gave me a the Adobe Video Collection PRO for Xmas. (She got it for the student discount). At the time I decided to wait until I got a new computer to run it on as my old one was slow as hell. Well I finally got a new pc and decided to load to suite to see how it wonderful it was. Everything was going fine until I tried to open AE 6.5. Everytime I open the program it loads until it gets to open gl, then it shuts down windows. There's no error message, no warning, it simply goes dark and reboots. When I contacted Adobe, I was told to upgrade to whatever the current wersion is for a mere $299 and it would work. Needless to say, that is not an option. Therefore I have turned to my fellow DVXers for help. I have a custom system (ie homemade) with a dualcore AMD 6400 running widows XP pro SP2. It has a Readeon video card and onboard sound. I'm running 4 gig ram although the system can only see 3 (I found that out after I installed it and am just to lazy to take out the extra gig). It's got 2 hard drives totaling 850 gig (a 350 and a 500). Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
