Adobe Certification?

I'm so psyched on this forum!!

Does anyone know what Adobe certification exam is like? I'm interested in trying to get certified in After Effects and Photoshop. I've got the CS3 classrooom in a book titles by Adobe press, but I'm not sure if thats all I'll need.

Any reason you need it? I got certified for some instruction that I do on occasion. Otherwise, it's just a logo that you can throw on your resume. And even for that, you must renew at every upgrade to keep it current.

But, I will say that the exam is very, very thorough. You must know AE backwards and forwards, inside and out.

A great demo reel will get you more work than some 3rd party logo.

I'll echo what Harry and Arson have already said. I've hired a lot of motion designers over the years and certification was never a requirement. I understand if it's something that you want to do for yourself. Just don't have an expectation that it puts you ahead of the competition, because it doesn't.
