forgive me, since i don't know the context of the shot, but why didn't u have the guy on the other end of the door just turn the knob?

yeah that's what we planned. unfortunately when you turn the knob outside it doesn't move the handle inside.

I would take one of the later frames, when the line is down a bit giving the window comletely clean, mask off the pane, size to fit the ealier foorage amd use a 4 point track with perspective and scaling.

Then I would do exactly the opposite for the handle. And since the is a small piece of the string that at the base of the handle that just points downward, I'de clone stamp that one out.

There is a tutorial ( http://www.videocopilot.net/tutorials.html?id=47 ) and its for plowing someone's head off but it may help you (I used this when id did something kind of like this).

CC Simple Wire Removal should be included with your copy of AE. It's just a simple two point "eraser" that works fairly ok for this kind of thing.

You'll have to manually track the string on the right side of the screen.
